@Lianhua Xin For reaaaal tho. DarkViper is way out of line here.. and as a survivor of brutal rape myself, I found that analogy to be extremely insensitive, and so careless, ignorant and disrespectful that that analogy alone is far worse than any of his arguably valid/non-valid points regarding people who do react vids/streams. That was just so gross.. and then for him, being so aggressive throughout, sitting on some high horse as some kind of self proclaimed king of react-morality as well, being all mad that people rightfully interpreted his comments as he wrote and said them the way he actually said them is just laughable and silly. The analogy itself is gross af, but then to blame the critices/auidence for not bscly reading his mind, twisting the situation as if we're all dumb for not "properly understanding" his extremely poorly and grossly written and spoken commentary is just crude. Ugh.
Way to go, champ.. jfc. Talk about arrogance and a total lack of self insight, and a refusal to accept that he made his point incredibly hidiously terrible. "Everyone else is stupid except for me", is bscly what he's saying. The audacity.

@bobanation6917 Calm down. It's okay to critisize religion, just as much as it's okay to be religious. Freedom of religion doesn't just mean that it's okay to practise religion, it also means freedom to not practise religion. It goes both ways, which many people can't seem to understand. Atheists and such are expected by religious people to never dare to ever say a single word against religion and to respect religion and religious people outright, yet literally demonize them for not sharing their beliefs. That's so extremely hypocritical, and that only makes it harder and harder for us non-religious people to respect religion and religious people.
My whole life I've tried my best to in a way distance religion from religious people, because I'm not a fool to think that someone's religion is their entire identity and such, amongst other reasons. However, with the way religious people seem incapable to agree to disagree, and respect other people's beliefs or lack thereof, the harder it becomes to respect religious people as well. You (speaking in general terms) can't expect respect while you also deny and refuse to extend that same expected respect to others who doesn't share your belief. Get it?

@jessh4016 Well that depends on the individual situation, doesn't it?
I have both a very much loving dog and cat, and trust me when I say their sheer presence in my life alone has literally saved my life multiple times (due to them being there for me at all times to remind me, aka 'snap me out' of that state of such severly deep depression that all I want is to.. (let's just put it mildly by saying) finally stop the suffering/endless battle with my own mentally ill mind that periodically makes life too difficult to handle. They truly are my saviours and to me they are my immidiate, closest family/loved ones that I don't have the heart to leave, because despite how I don't give a fvck about my own presence and feel like too much of a burden to go on, I deep down know that they would be far too heartbroken, so whenever it sadly gets too dark and meaningless for me to go on for myself, I continue going on, fighting, for them.. my babies. I could never do that to them, so knowing that they need me as much as I need them is enough to go on, even in my darkest moments where it all feels pointless. We need each other.. it's sad to say, but in my darkest hours, I'm reminded of my value to at least them, making it at least a bit easier to continue to fight my way to the little possibility I feel that one day, I will find enough happiness, peace and strength inside of me. That's a BIG DEAL.
I also struggle with severe C-PTSD, severe addictions (opiates/heroin for the most part regarding addiction, though also a heavy reliance on benzodiazepines/aka sedatives such as xanax etc.).
I'm not explaining this for any kind of sympathy, I don't need or want that - especially not from strangers. I'm explaining this for those who don't seem to understand the incredible deep connection people can form from animals/pets. I would do ANYTHING to protect them. If any human tried to hurt them even in the slightest, I'd fight for them as if they were my literal children. I severly doubt I would ever find myself in a situation where the "choice" is between the life of either one of or both of my beloved pets and another human being, it just doesn't seem realisitc. Regardless, I'd absolutely fight like hell for them if need be.
However.. if an innocent human being got severly attacked from a dog for instance or some other kind of animal, I would absolutely aid the person - but that situation also depends on whether it's a matter of life or death, defenseless people like children or handicapped people - whomever, again innocent who did not incite any kind of animal ab*se mailiciously. However, if a person maliciously attacked another dog or something, I would try to defend the dog (or cat etc. - esp domesticated pets).
It ALL depends a whole lot on the individual situation, all the variables and factors and so forth.
You jist seem to make it all so black and white.. that regardless of the individual circumstances, humans always, REGARDLESS are more important to save. I disagree with that.. context matters a whole heck of a lot in such awful matters.
In general, just due to my PERSONAL situation and circumstances, I generally care more about innocent pets and animals. Again, especially domesticated animals as they are just as much part of the family as people are. That's how I view it, and know many others who do.
Again though, it ALWAYS depends. It's okay to disagree about this, but trying to make this a clear cut, open and shut case that humans always comes before animals (despite humans literally just being another species of animals.. we just happen to be on top of the food chain).
To me, my personal relation to pets/animals and humans is a key part in my view. OF COURSE I care more about the life of my two own pets that I consider to be an equal part of the rest of my family than I care about human strangers. I find that to be completely natural.
Ya know, it always just depends. There's really no point in this discussion, as there is no such thing as a universal answer or standard.
Now, as a final point, I do agree with the TS's comment about the weirdness/disapproval of dogs, cats or whatever else kind of pet being just considered "a quirky trend". That's just odd to me. Don't get a pet just because it's somehow considered "quirky'', "trendy" or whatever. Now that's just hella weird and pointless.. rather stupid, to say the least. I don't at all respect ANY pet owner who gets a pet just because they're cute or whatever the hell. Only truly loving, responsible and people who genuinly love pets should have them, and for them - people like me, there is nothing at all that's odd about it or whatever else kind of adjective one would use.
It's okay to like and love pets, just as it's okay to not like them. Hating pets however seems far more silly to me. Essentially what I'm saying here, no extremes are usually good. I understand that one may grow a hatred, or negative feelings generally towards any pet or animal IF something truly awful happened where someone got seriously harmed. I get that. However.. being annoyed over people who are animal lovers, and/or pets/animals in general for no reason, who goes out of their way to let anyone and everyone know how much you dislike or hate pets and/or animals sort of like "just because".. wth? It's okay to not be a fan or lover yourself. Irrational disdain or hatred however says more about that person than the pets/animals themselves.. Key word being irrational.
Just to flip the argument a bit - I don't like babies or kids. However, I absolutely don't hate them or have any disdain for them. I of course care about their well being, because I'm not a fricking monster. Same thing goes for pets and animals. That's it. It's really that simple. I value living life. We all like and dislike different things and species and such, which is perfectly fine, perfectly normal. It's just when disinterest turns into irrational fear, disdain or hatred that's of issue.
I don't see how this position is not the rstional position. I'm not "taking a side" or whatever. I just happen to care more about pets than humans - in general. That can absolutely shift based on if we're talking about strangers/someone we don't share a bond with, and vice versa. I don't see how that's irrational or illogical at all. You do know it's entirely possible to not have to choose either or, right? I guess the key in all of this is the bond and relationship we have to whatever living being we're talking about.

Unpopular opinion from a Norwegian here, so I guess semi-European (it's slightly complicated lolz, Google is your friend).. I absolutely find mayo, even the slightest bit hidden on some sub or sandwich or whatever, or mayo on ANYTHING AT ALL is abhorrent and a crime against humanity. I *absolutely truly HATE all things like mayo and similar stuff like ranch, mustard and all things similar. Practically all broadly milk-based, often based with eggs as well is TERRIBLY DIGUSTING and I don't get it.. never have, never will.
Now i will say, I can at least respect my fellow countrymen and women for not overdoing it. Those among us here up north who use it usually use it like a simple, not overly done spread on sandwiches, bread etc., ESPECIALLY NOT something any of my fellow citizens slap onto literally everything, and I've NEVER seen ANYBODY be disgusting enough to eat it straight out of a jar with a spoon. Whenever it's used here, it's used moderatly; which for me is still far to abhorrent and outright criminal anyway, but I can at least accept people who don't eat it as if it's some kind of actual meal (ffs EWW wtf u doing, ya nasties!?!??!???😭🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮😱) ffs, or don't literally DROWN whatever they're eating in mayo, ranch and all those kinds of milk/cream-based dressings and spreads, it just has no valid place in the kitchen or any other room for that matter, even in any grocery/food stores. It's truly a disgusting abomination. Sorry not sorry. I know we're not supposed to shit on people's food choices/likings/preferances, but I truly don't care. It's just far too disgusting. I like most food, I'm not some kale eating vegan, I eat most kinds of foods, so.. it's just too disgusting to even acknowledge as food at all.
You may say I'm the one with the unpopular opinion, but I'm rising up to defend ACTUAL FOOD, so really, people who love that kind of are the true disgraces.
I just also wanna make it clear that the stereotype of white people loving mayo etc. isn't a white thing, it's simply an american thing (perhaps canadians as well, but I don't rly know, so due to my lack of knowledge on canadians' relationship to mayo, ranch, bscly white dressing of all kinds, I won't comment on that), NOT a white person-thing, it's just a disgusting western white people-thing. Us europeans are 100% a different breed of white peole. Just saying.. the only thing left we have in common is being caucasion, THAT'S IT.. as well as some unfortunate lingering racism and misogony, just for sure not anywhere close to the same scale. That's it. We're rational, you're not. Sorry for not being sorry for not being sorry about not being sorry, lol. Straight up. We're just better than you on all counts, and we're not sorry about that.
Enjoy your strokes and heart attacks, lol. We're just better than the US population all together on all counts. 😇😏😏🤭😘

Oh wow, I'm so surprised that someone with good wealth would be greedy enough to trick strangers into giving you even more.. jfc. Yet, those greedy mf'rs have absolutely no shame nor self insight, talking about people who are way less fortunate as "entitled", as if they - actual homeless people and such are the greedy ones despite barely having what they need to simply live.
I've been homeless for years, living on the streets and if I was lucky during the coldest northern winters, some ppl would let me sleep on their couch so that I wouldn't literally freeze to death.
It truly humbles you.
I've absolutely noticed and kniw very well that I'm faaaar from the only one that have noticed that in general, people with the least give the most, and people with more than plenty never ever help others. Ofc, there will always be exceptions, however when you yourself truly knows what it's like to not have anything, what actual hunger and starvation is like, what it's like to struggle endlessly just to barely survive, you'll end up far more likely to give and share with others since you know just how much even the so called "small things" matters.
Meanwhile those who's never had to experience such hardships, those who've been blessed in life take it all for granted and never give anything back to the world.
Lastly, I absolutely despise people who fake being poor/homeless, fake disabilities, mental illnesses etc., to garner sympathy points and praise. They make those of us who actually struggles look frckn awful. I could never imagine being that cruel.
This is why we can't have nice things.. ugh. Dissappointing. I just don't understand why it's seemingly SO HARD for certain people to use a brain cell or two, and to be respectful towards other people, especially those less fortunate. The world is cruel.
