Then wouldn't you want to bring forth COMMON SENSE legislation regarding gun control - not to remove people's right to bear arms/ban the 2nd amendment, BUT to make gun ownership safer for ALL PARTIES involved? Also, if you're actually a RESPONSIBLE gun owner, wouldn't you want there to be common sense gun laws that could at least drastically minimize the horrid gun death/injury statistics? These gun control ideas wouldn't affect actually responsible gun owners, only the irresponsible and/or illegal ones - just like the principle with all kinds of laws controlling cars, which surely when used reasonably and responsibility it's a great tool, but becomes a lethal weapon the second someone not responsible enough decides to use a car. It's kinda the same thing. Same principle. Remember that lefties have, use and own guns as well, not just right wingers. Nobody is going to take away your guns. People just want less needless suffering, whether the suffering is accidental or not.
