I am a woman who has children and it was the best decision ever but it’s extremely difficult to “have children” physically emotionally and financially so I hate when people say have more children like they are placing an order.   70. Wow. My son is entering 6th grade. He has dysgraphia. His least favorite thing is writing. The process to figure out he had dysgraphia was terrible. One teacher in particular was treating him like he had something wrong with him and was constantly asking me to medicate him. We finally found out he feels writing is extremely difficult Reading and math are no problem. At first you don’t know what it is though. So he’s avoiding writing hard. Now he’s had a couple great teachers who are more understanding. At first though we were getting a lot of mistreatment. Where we are there’s no resources for this and the school doesn’t have an IEP. Nothing is set up for dyslexic and dysgraphic children and I think it’s way more common than people realize. These kids have an enormous amount of potential but we’re putting some in a corner because it’s easier. Also I don’t judge anyone’s choices but personally for us we didn’t do medication. I felt like the Aha moment that smart people have or the moment they see the “portals” would be robbed if they’re hyper focusing due to medications. I’m going to meet my kid where he’s at and still give him expectations but I do feel somehow that I’m failing him or the system is failing him because he can learn so much more than just sitting at a desk feeling bad because he can’t write. Also we were getting pushed meds hard and for a long time but meds won’t help dysgraphia and it’s terrible that people are just throwing this out there without knowing what’s really going on.

  110. There’s a huge problem with education in this country. This topic could be discussed for a long time. Voucher programs are becoming popular in rural states. Public school are in terrible condition and the private schools most of which didn’t have enough resources to begin with are getting kids thrown at them and these private schools are using religion and corporate Influence to teach our kids their curriculums. It’s a mess. The more urban areas won’t use voucher programs which is good but I know they are a mess too. Access to equal education is in the constitution and wealthy areas get disproportionately more funding across the nation.

  132. I think Unions are a sign of a healthy Democracy. I think they are needed. I also know companies would rather manufacture elsewhere in order to avoid Unions. There’s a healthy battle there between Organized labor and corporations that I think is key to a strong middle class and government. There’s something I don’t get about that balance though. The middle class is shrinking (my husband is involved in Union business) You would think the answer is Unions, however the capitalist bosses are saying unions kill their innovation and productivity and it’s like Well damn. This is great knowledge I let my son listen to this in the car and I generally cook a lot and teach him good eating habits but I’m also a huge believer in if you restrict certain things the kid will not know how to self regulate and will go overboard on whatever you restricted. I consider myself a Democrat unregistered and I guess by todays standards I’m left but I look on the right on X and they do have some stuff I consider fringe but a lot are saying we don’t want pride flags in the schools we don’t want our children learning what that is and I think it’s reasonable bc I 1000% love and support LGBTQ movement and wouldn’t bat an eye if my child were though I’m thinking my child isn’t and the LGBTQ movement is about sexuality so I think most people on the right and left would agree no hatred or prejudice but let’s dial back the school age information campaigns but the politicians have us out here like either I’m left so I’m supporting transitioning all children which I’m not or you’re on the right so you’re a hateful bigot. I think we meet more in the middle then you’d think On many issues Though not all issues I think we could be getting a long better than what we are Things are just nuts

In healthcare all levels or workers are exposed to Hep B Phlebotomists lab workers nurses and Doctors If someone you are around cuts themselves there’s a higher risk of getting Hep B than HIV or Hep C Assuming the person is infected So to say Hep B is an STD (STI is now the terminology) Is highly inaccurate information to spread
