@cannaroe1213 No. Mahle provides contract engineering. You pay them money and they will do whatever engineering you like. They do not care if it works or not. You ask them to test stupid idea. You lose money and Mahle does not care.
64
@cannaroe1213 No. Not partner. Mahle never says that Alfadan is a partner. Don't let cunning wording fool you
30
Yes. Definitely a scam. It looks like that the guy read the 7 Marine story. And literally copied everything of 7 Marine's business plan.
16
@csonkaperdido Furthermore, in thehulltruth boating forum, the CEO wrote that the engine will be 8600cc 6500 rpm in 2020. in the same forum in 2021, the engine will be 7500cc 5500rpm same 654 hp. Just this spec change, you need a new engineering contract with Mahle. So none of this is genuine. It is 100% a scam scheme.
6
@aw9680 True. The interview did not answer anything. No real information is given. Where is the prototype? What technology do they have to achieve such performance gained? Nothing.
4
How about this one? A detail nearly sentence by sentence breakdown of this cheat speech of the vaporware engine company's CEO's so called response. If you still believe in this, you must be part of the gang to cheat investors money. Money for nothing if anyone invest in that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNzOX3PRM5A&ab_channel=TheWorkshop
4
@youzrnaim Of course 7 Marine was not a scam. Alfadan is. I was saying that they derived the idea of making very high horsepower outboard marine from reading the 7 Marine story.
4
@garrettstevens2232 The CEO has stated the parameters last year in a boat forum. It is a in-line 4 cylinders 4 strokes 600hp petrol marine engine with no supercharging or turbocharging. Also no Freevalve in this engine. It runs at 6500rpm maximum, 8400 c.c. and the piston speed does not exceed highest normal production engine i.e. less than 25m/s Within those parameters, it is a extreme over square cylinders. Due to flame propagation difficulties, CEO says that the spark plug will be a patented system :-( I bet that Mahle should have charged them 1 billion US dollars to design such engine
3
A lot of people do not have the common sense to think independently and fall for claims without proof.
3
Someone tell a bunch of lies is game changer. Where is the engine? Prototype? Not even a scale model. Do not help scammer to scam.
3
It is a scam. Do not help the scammer. Are you paid to do that?
3
No Freevalve as written by Alfadan CEO in a reply message at thehulltruth forum
2
It is just a computer generated graphic by an artist. Alfadan has not made anything physical. Not a prototype. Not a engineering sample. Nothing except a boatload of shit claims. You may be right that the artist just copied the Mercury V12 outboard to save him/her a bit of work
2
It is bad. Otherwise Yamaha, Suzuki and Mercury guys have already done this already. Do you know how big the engineering team of Yamaha? It is at least as big as the Mahle.
2
LOL? He has got millions dollars of investment. Destroy his life? How? With million dollars?
2
@ehb403 Worst still the CEO has already written that the Scotch Yoke patent design not work according to Mahle. Thus he has another patent pending for the "working" design. thehulltruth web site has a thread in the boating forum for more than one year. You see how fishy this whole thing is. He literally changes the narratives as he likes. The conclusion is that it is "vaporware". The whole thing is to hoax innocent investor to shell out money so that the guy can enjoy his life with investors' money.
2
@uncletrashero In 2020 a crowdsourced investment round. This year a SEC what A investment round again. They took several millions of investment. Money. The money is what they gain.
2
@emmanuelmeysman820 Of course Mercury is good. Marketing people say that they have spent more than ten years to develop the 600 hp Verado V12 outboard marine engine. They keep it silent for a decade and roll out the product when it is ready.
2
Context. You need to see things in its context. I don't think that it was hype. At that time the competitors you said that Honda was below were running two-stroke engines. Honda was running a 4-stroke engine. At the same rpm 2-stroke engines have double the number of combustion. It is normal that they losed. It would have been a miracle if Honda wins. Nevertheless it was a ingenious design for a 4-stroke motocycle engine.
2
@Iflyagrasshopper Same thinking. It has most of the Wankel rotary engines' problems. It may improve those cons a bit but no way it has solved everything.
2
Sorry to disagree. It is only one side claim. Mahle has never come forward to confirm any involvement with ALFADAN. Do not believe until there is proof.
2
This company has nothing to sell yet. No product! Not even a prototype. What did you see? Where have you seen the Alfadan marine engine?
2
Not even a proof of concept. So 0.000001% that you will see this engine being produced. Don't worry. No engine thus no reliability problem
2
What? Alfadan is a scam and they have nothing. Those Alfadan guys should enrol internship at Honda to learn the trade
2
I bet that the V8 is the only option. 3 cyclinder Freevalve engine has already been scrapped. Koenigsegg does not want to lose face and cancel the engine covertly. If I were them, I would ask the sales representative to persude the customers to switch to V8. Gemera has not been produced yet. It will be very easy to switch their customers to V8. Just offer them a free upgrade.
2
Not a bit similar. Those F1 pneumatic valve is for extremely fast operation i.e. to allow the valve to be open and close under 20000 rpm. Essentially it is compress air spring. This Freevalve is about total control i.e. variable timing, variable lift as well as variable valve open duration.
2
US patent . Should be this one. It is a scotch yoke design actually. Nothing new.
2
@fokjohnpainkiller Agree. It will bring down the channel as well as the guy himself. He is helping an con man to trick money from public into this so called "2 times the horsepower, half the weight marine engine".
2
Yes. Agree. And you can buy one now although there is a long waiting line already. It is also being delivered and installed in real boats
2
@ericbrenner690 Sure. Single charge will be 72 hours straight. In the city I live, home electric socket output 220 volt 13 Amp max. So a Tesla Model S will require in between 48 hours to 72 hours for a full charge. Home charging station is a one in million thing
1
You should reserve your statement until the first Freevalve production car hits the road.
1
It is called the boxer layout. Subaru and Porsche have been doing it for decades
1
@nenume00 Alfadan is a scum 100%. They just want investors to give them money. The owner will take all those money and deliver nothing. The money will go to his own pocket to finance his car, his boat, his mistress etc. Thus the mentioned in marketing material engine will never happen. Never.
1
It doesn't. So they abandon Freevalve already as written by the CEO.
1
What product? Not even an prototype is available. Nothing. All claims without substance only.
1
@Zozosadventurez What is troll? Show us the evidence that it is real. Something? Have anything?
1
They rev not as fast.
1
@psk5746 No. It is a 4 stroke engine as stated in their web site
1
Yes. There must be an NDA. Mahle must keep secret for their customers. Customers may not like disclosure of their identify and stuff.
1
@timsmith5032 Of course Matt needs to make assumption. Alfadan has not said a thing. It is a outboard marine engine that will be mass produced and sold to boat makers. It must use convention mass production material. You can argue that they may use some magic material which are lighter, stronger, withstand high heat. Aliens use their UFO technology to help this guy blah blah blah. The Workshop explanation is good enough.
1
Cost
1
@uncletrashero Don''t be so simple and naive. Pay you back the money? Never. They will claim that all the money have been spent on development. Nothing left.
1
@uncletrashero No Freevalve. The CEO wrote that already in a reply in thehulltruth web site boating forum.
1
Mahle thing is a hoax. Mahle does contract engineering. You pay them money and they do engineering for you. It means nothing. They are not backing up or endorse you whatsover. As for Freevalve, the CEO has written in thehulltruth site forum that no Freevalve for their inline 4 already
1
@Alfred Wedmore I bet on your side. The actuator in itself will be extremely difficult to make. It will have high pressure pneumatic, hydraulic and electric valve elements there. To make it reliable enough to be put in a production car, it will be extremely difficult.
1
I think they did but it didn't work out. In 2016 a China car manufacturer Qoros unveiled a drivable prototype car in Guangzhou auto show. It uses Freevalve. The prototype has never progressed into production. 7 years later and still we do not see any mass production car using Freevalve. It is a dead-end technology. It may be used in a Hypercar that total production number is 2 in a whole year. And that is it.
1
@billspangler2685 Freevalve does not use solenoid. It uses high pressure pneumatic actuator to open the valve and uses hydraulic system to keep the valve at the required lift. A spring is used to close the valve. It is kind of fail-safe. When the ECU does not work, the valves are kept close. No damage to the engine. Just not running only
1
@jonshaffer5793 Not. Not even close. It is a marine engine. Energy density of gasoline to battery is still more than 100 times. You cannot add battery to the ship to compensate the lack of range. Too heavy and it will sink the boat.
1
You better get a millennium falcon!
1
@brianb-p6586 I think that Freevalve has been abandoned. It is about face. It does not look good if they announce the cancellation of Freevalve engine. They will not say anything but also never produce a single Freevalve engine car.
