  2. The handmaids tale is just incitement to hatred agaisnt the people the author, and thus the status quo, doesn't like. Attempting to demonise Christians, explicitly including mennonites, amish and such. It's always the same argument "those evil Christians are plotting to kill us all! They want to take over the country!" Imagine writing a book like that about a takeover by blacks, or jews.
