  1. Claiming the undecided as Atheists seems both pointless and incorrect, this is what the terms agnostic is for after all. If someone calls themselves an agnostic it makes more sense to take them at their word rather than say that they are actually atheists, even if they don't. As for babies and the very young, I suppose from a strictly epistemological view we don't know, but, more broadly, that implies that people default to Atheism, which is an unbacked position. What proof have we for that? Edit: spelling

As for eastern religions being non materialist but atheist, that really doesn't track with what is actually involved with their religions, with worship of overt gods being normal and in practice obligatory. Buhhda is for all intents and purposes a god, and is for all intents and purposes worshipped as such. I would more generally be dubious of trying to apply a western religious model to eastern religion, it leads to terminology being used but meaning different things.
