  2. The Kibbutzim were an example of the Westermark effect coming into play with people who are not genetically related. Non of the little Socialist Kibbutz Jews wanted to marry each other, but the community was closed off to outsiders unless they joined. This is part of why the Kibbutz fell apart, a lack of new blood, and why mostly only the religious Kibbutz stuck around, because Jews kind of treat them like monasteries.
