  1. For most of the history the majority of the Norwegians have been living in freedom and peace, unlike many countries in Europe. Not so rich in money, but most did live okay lives with farming and fishing

  2. That's up to you and your interests, job and so on. Naturally Nowary is further away, language, culture. If just for comfort, standard of living, Canada is far enough. Too someone espceially interested in Europe, and exploring the place, and possible get some income without too much effort/re-schooling, Norway can be a option

  3. There has been a stable relation Norway vs Russia in the north for decades, with fishing and business, not much of the hostile 'Russia vs the world' situation one see. Not that we are big fans of the Russian government, but the people up north on both side of the border seems to have a kind of friendly relation, where they live far from the capitals and big politics

  4. some norwegians have just 1 weekend cabin and 1 yacht. They feel like living hand to mouth. understandable

  5. would be doing okay without the oil too, similar to Denmark, Sweden. would have found alternative businesses to live from.Not quite as high standard of living as with oil, but okay
