In an offical document it is stated that the fees paid by the ships using the canal as of 2009 only covered 20-30% of the cost of operating and upgrading the canal, the rest covered by the German state. I was surpriced to learn. Maybe as of 2023 the fees cover more of the operating costs

Outside Germany it's possible most known as the Kiel Canal, not it's offical name, so they use it for an international audience. In the video desription also the official name is tagged

Great. Good. We are all happy for you. Euro trucks were also simple and easy to maintain back then, with minimum electronics and so on. You are comparing 2 trucks made for completely different markets, they have a age difference of 27 years (!) and in addition you got NO first hand idea what so ever about these Mercedes trucks. Makes no sense. New Peterbilts are EXTREMELY expensive compared to many other trucks, and there is not much one are able to fix oneself anymore. Keep holding on to your 1993 truck.

Shocking. I enjoyed the whole video and found it fine. I had no idea it contained dubbing of very poor quality. Had I knew, I would problay not dared to watch. Why was I not made aware of this earlier?

You seem to know some english, but can not differ english and german? The people being interviewed do speak English of course. The video is made for a international audience, and most people of Sweden are able to speak english

@heinzd5523 Oh come on:) There is about ONE person choose to speak German, and a couple of persons speaking swedish, but 95% speaks in english naturally. Have a good one

Will drive at lower speeds than a same weight road truck. No so much hp needed

...talk about bigtime nitpicking) Is that ALL you could find, really?;) These are general info videos aimed at average-Joe out there who have no interest in detailed facts about steel and iron, just wanna have a overall picture. Please refer to the fact sheet that defines what is a 'heavy duty crane' and numbers. Then we'll come with the fact sheet that defines 'how long is a rope'

John Deere produces tractors. Mercedes produces trucks.

How is it about the BMW motorbikes, do they manage to keep them 'simple and solid', not overloading them with electronics and cheap plastics as with their cars making them costly to maintain?

Basically, but several parts are different and different configuration. In other words, they are not totally the same
