  1. There are relative cheap tools aviable for getting off cartidge filers, giving one more leverage than griping directly at the filter with the hands. Maybe you are aware. Also easier to get the filer off when the engine and filter are hot, and the oil will also drain easier

  4. Have you tried when the engine, and filer, is warm? Generally easier to get off when the engine has just been run and is at it's normal operation temperature. Metal expands a bit with higher temperature

  5. sounds strange that modifing the filter housing is supposed to be needed in order to go for a full synthetic oil? Never heard of it before. Oil is oil, synthetic is mainly longer lasting, higher quality, but otherwise same as 'ordinary oil'. And 2018, most brands use synthetic oil in the first place. Hey, I'm not a Toyota expert. Would check with different sources.
