Hear you, and I as a foreginer would possible feel the same regarding some of the low cost stuff there, and quickly step it up a couple of notches to some of the many eating places with more 'international' dishes. You come from another country/culture, and naturally have some other preferences than locals. I don't see the point of this loud rambling around another cultures 'traditional' food at all. Come on, quite possible nobody forced you into the low cost places ?) If one not like it, just walk away, walk a.w.a.y, forget it, seal your lips and just go for the more expensive places (expensive too many locals possible, but still normal/cheap too westerners) ;)

  2.  @cerberus6654  Probably pretty expencive to hire a place in these large modern malls, everyone wants to maximize profit, so eating places choose to serve quick and cheap food. If most customers, russians, wasn't happy about it, they would not sell. Anyway, it's their problem, if some locals see it as a problem. Guess it all boils down to economic issues, what people can afford. As a foreginer one likely should have small problems stepping it up a notch concerning eating places if one wish to. All countries have their plusses and minuses.
