Bringing up sad details that is part of wars in general, does not help (other than provoke) Like Ptuin and his ideas or not, one have to come to a deal to end the suffering in Ukraine asap. Beliving one can crush russia, avoid a ww3, keep on sending weapons and money into a bottomless pit, push them out for good, is extremely naive to put it mildly. One can send 500 billion to Ukraine, and move the frontline a mile longer east or whatever, but in the end the conflict will be frozen somewhere where it is today, and a no man zone created.

Ukraine should used the chance to let those regions, and their soivet minded people, to fully focus building up a new modern Ukraine. Western leaders are also a part of this stupid mess happened, with their ideas of chaninging countries and cultures to better match with their self, instead of meet on the middle
