He want's eastern Ukraine, which the russians look at as 'original russian soil', not seeing the region getting 'lost' to EU and Nato. that said, he should just let it go in the first place, avoid all this mess and big expences. But he did chose not to. the west can put in x20 the money and help push the russians out, and keep them out. But is it worht it to the economies of the west and their people, for some eastern ukraine vasteland. Anyway, I think the conflict will be frozen about at todays frontline for some years, at least for as long Putin is around

  46. Agreed to that. Putin and the elite prefer to send people from poor regions and towns to the meat grinder, together with people they want to get rid of, criminals, refugees and so on. Many of those rushing to the Finland border a while ago was refugees from different countries that was about to be pushed to sign millitary contracts
