Naturally, a quit big part of the cars have been stolen in Germany and other places through the years

@dohmies77 'Horsepower to weight ratio' is often what matters;)

Not so much with engine size. Fist of all to show off in premium cars, and then older ones as they are cheaper

Unfortunate for customers, fortunate for the company. It was bad for business to manufacture cars that lasted 20+ years, so the economists sad 'stop it'. I got a 1995 model E class diesel, and have no plans to sell it for many years yet. The newer models are not so interesting, I do not like all the electronics

There where issues with some of the first models, 86-87. It is well know among many enthusiast that those model years one better stay away from. It's the 88-95 models that are the ones to look for.

@CanyonsCarver What do you concider new? Newer ones are highly loaded with electronics. Everything well as long as all works, but the day things start to disfunction, the money will start to roll. Big time. Some have luck. Many not.

thanks for the info. Yes, that sounds reasonable

Also Albanian: my family got 6-7 of them. They are alright.

Until about year 1995-2000. After that nothing special, except some most expencive models

Ok

@CanyonsCarver Okay. First 5-6 years from new is no problem, usually like a walk in the park. Same with BMW.

The models after 190 and 124 have some notable higher comfort and power. But it comes with a high price regarding maintenence in general, and longivity. Not worth it for my part. I own a 124 diesel estate for 12 year, and will continue to stick with it for many years to come) My parents have had a C class diesel 2004 model for 10 years pluss, and have had good luck with it, very little problems with rust and mainentence costs. So there are some 'bright examples' of the newer ones now and then, but not that easy to come over. How they have been taken care of does matter a lot, and makes a big difference

Yep) Together with a couple neighbourhood countries in the south east there

You are welcome. Tanks for watching.

Like jugding a whole nations cousine based on 1 dish. That's not how reality works. Whatever brand of car, one have to pick the right models and years, and shy away from others. No manufacturer are perfect. Why sit with a car for 13 years that one are not happy with. I picked a 1995 E class diesel, that had low milage and have very little issues. As I see it now, I will keep it for the rest of my life, or my active driving career. I am 50 now.
