they are also using round wheels, stolen that idea from some hardworking stone age inventor. Sad.

Such a dircet drive willl not help increase milage and lower emissions. The point is having it run off the battery pack, be able to charge downhill, the flexibility to charge the batteries at the grid when aviable, the diesel engine can always run at the rpm of highest effiency while charging, at a stedy rpm

Edison has not developed anything new, have no serial manufacturing, have zero proprietary technology or intellectual property. All truck brands uses diesel engines combined with wheels...It's not like when one company did that combination, no others where allowed to...
2
That's pretty interesting.
2
apart from increase milage and lower emissions, there is no point!! Who wants that!!
2
There is a CAt V8 engine that was aviable for trucks, possible into the 90's.Some have those still, rebuilt. Thirsty,

Good for them. And?

Sounds like, but is different. Trains got a 'direct drive' generator to motors, wich gives great advantages to a gearbox in the case of trains. I the truck the generator only charges the batteries, no direct drive. This is the setupthat makes for increased milage, lower emissons (small engine), can do regen braking, charge off the grid when aviable
1
The tractor axles are able to handle all regen braking the semi weight can offer, and pulling without help of additional axles that would just add weight and cost
1
Edison motors where to supply the whole of North America with diesel-eletric-battery trucks all alone, tens of thousands a year. Beautiful day...RUINED!!!!

Increase milage, lower emissions
1
There is a recent video of skiddiing with a tractor that is for you kids. Look it up
1
Ah!
1
The axle motors will do the braking downhill, acting like generators charging the batteries. One regulate the braking and speed with the pedal
1
Good system, still quite expencive, but battery prices keeps coming down year by year. and you will have places like California there will be demands for it, so will see much of this in a not too different future
1
Go ahead, if you can manufacture a diesel engine not needing DEF these days, please
1
More concerned about the wheels. They are round. THAT idea is for sure stolen somewhere, can remember where I've seen it, we're gonna get to the bottom of this, you bet!

Edison hasn't developed or manufactured anything and they have zero proprietary technology or intellectual property.
1
that's all that is needed to lower milage conciderable. One got a gen-set onboard, no need for larger batteries

1
that was an issue regarding standard diesel trucks too back in time when trucks got gasoline engines. 'Time will fix it'
1
Edison got no copyright whatsoever. Hybrids have been made for years.

and.....?
1
@shrekas2966 Depend on what level of restoration is needed. A trucker entioned he spend 30K for a full rebuild of his inline 6 CAT engine 2-3 yeas ago. The V8 is a bit more complex
1
Ediosn Motors has not invented anything new or have any rights , they not even have a serial production as these guys have. This stuff have been around for years
1
Hybrid trucks are nothing new, around way before Edison

Edison has not developed anything new, have no serial manufacturing, have zero proprietary technology or intellectual property.
1
I'm sure the builder of this one is aware of Edison
1
Someone else mentioned the dyed fuel. Is there any 'proof' it will be allowed dyed diesel for a gen.set that is that closely connetced to actually move the truck? Pretty nteresting if it is/will be allowed
1
Nope.Trains don't got batteries
1
Tesla truck will be better for some transports, and these hybids better for others. The diesel engine gen is an added cost compared to what the Teslas got
1
there are and will be many companies doing thi stuff, it's a part of future
1
there you just got a business idea
1
No need to have larger battery pack than 100 miles, it got the gen set. They optimize it, milage/range/weight

Edison has not developed anything new, have no serial manufacturing, have zero proprietary technology or intellectual property.
