  1. Fleet owners in the Nordics typically keep the trucks for 5-7 years, before replaced with a newer model. Some smaller company and owner operators might run these for another 5-7 years, next they are usually exported to the Middle East, Africa, if not used for parts locally. This truck is 2010-2015 and concidered having done it's job in the Nordics

  11. The 25 year old Scania is a hobby.When it's that old is so much easier put plates on it. Scania can of course sell new trucks in the USA, but then need to custom design versions especially for the North american market and it's set of rules, and establish a factory there to avoid heavy import taxes. All this demands huge investments, and Scania and other Euro brands have not so far found it economical interesting enough to market their cab overs there.   12. Not quite sure what you mean. All tuning had to be done while it was in the truck, with the truck running on the dyno. They got it tuned to 950 hp, as the new owner wished. Later it was removed and put on the stand, to be started just to see everything was working and possibe to get it started once out of the truck. Regarding the tuning they run it to 850 first, checked if it would take it, not exploded, some parts missing, had to be carefull, checked things, adjusted, then continued further to the power wished.

  23. To short for a dump truck, and missing an axle or 2' ?? Are you located in Switerland maybe, where they got 5 axle dump trucks? For Norway and Sweden this truck is generally to long for a dumptruck, but can be fixed, and 3 axles is just fine. Anyway, yes, it's done it's job @Iceeeen

  24. That truck is from 2010-2015 somewhere, the last generation before the currentone that came in 2016. Not so bigexternal changes to them since early 2000's. To those into it, it's easy to differ the different generations @Wqghfxz

  26. They do not need so much power to pull just 38 tons across the flat prairie, t they fit typically 450-550 hp stock, keep costs down. Some said the engines are pretty high tech, but the rest they keep it simple

  27. The Euro trucks in case needs large sleepers in the US to be of any bigger interest. Anyway, just studied some videos of the 2024 579 Peterbilt, I would not mind at all haveing such a truck in Europe

By the way, why does the Americans stick to the tandem setup, 6x4 even for tractor trucks that just will be driving on fine roads with no traction issues, while at the same time they are so concerned with keeping weight down? Why not more often use 6x2 and a pusher axle like in Europe, to save weight @malceone

  29. Soeone with decades in both Volvo and Scania said the impression was Volvo had always been a small step in front of Scania when it came to durability of transmissions and axles, while Scania had the higher powered engines

  34. yes, as long as the engine is not modified to 950 hp. Then one wish a old style basic turbo for less risk of damage than an highly advanced vgt turbo with lots of parts inside
