Lol...talking about 'open minded' and in the next you are close minded with the attitude that trucks from YOUR place is the best ever:) North America would be filled up with Euro trucks if they where 'superior' ) I'm not even american

@wiltzu81 Volvo got a factory in the USA, been producing American style trucks for many years, loaded with euro technology. They have a market share in USA of about 10%. It does not indicate superiority. Drivers comfort safty for the Volvos are regarded higher than other brands in the US, but it seem not to help much regarding market share.

The point of the tag axle is to load more. It's a truck for fine highways, no need for more than 1 driven axle. The tag axle is lighter than the driven axle, give more payload and less fuel use. The combined load for the boggi, driven+tag axle is 19.000 kg / 42000 lbs 9500 kg at both the driven and tag axle.

@TheBlibo It's standard that the tag axle can be lifted, for truks spec'd in the Nordic countries and be out the way as needed. Don't know about UK. Construction trucks, timber trucks and simlar usually got 2 driven rear axles

The truck has done it's job on the highways. Next in line would been retire as a local farm truck, or exported to Africa, Middle east for parts, or further operation. There is no lack of retired trucks
