Now that Navistar/International has become a sister company of Scania a couple of years ago, I guees the chance is larger than ever, since the brand was in the US late 80's. Maybe an assembly plant next to a Navistar plant, and possible make use of Navistar dealer and service locations around the US and Canada. Some dump trucks for offroad use has recently been delivered in Canda, via a local Navistar dealer. Going into road legal, commercial freight trucks is a bigger project, but it could maybe happen within 5 years,if Scania decide to go that route.

So you actually do not understand. Alright. Americans love their big sleepers, and the hooded trucks got lower cabs, easier to access in and out of those sleepers. That is one of the reasons Euro trucks are not in the US.

@johnnyrvf That's a nother issue to many US truckers that are pretty concervative, they like 'simple', not high-tech' Many drive +15year old trucks/engines, less complicated, less things to go wrong, more things they can fix themselves with a wrench. They do care less the trucks are more noisy and got less drivers comfort, they are willing to pay that price. On the other hand there are Americans truckers that welcome new high tech, and will not mind a truck like Scania. I think it will be 'love or hate'. The Us truck brands will live on and have their fans, while some Euro trucks will come in and live side by side

Look at it this way; this channel got viewers from all over the world, where Scania mostly is present. It's a good commercial for Scania in general, even if they might not have any special intentions for the US market as of now. but of course now as Navistar / International has become a sister company a couple of years ago, with potentailly access to lots of dealer & service point all over, is a much better starting point than back in the 80's when the brand had to go all of their own into the market, without a partner. US truck business would not collapse due to trucks like Scania entering the market. A lot of the US truck market is not a big fan of high tech trucks, better prefere simpler older tech.
