  7. They have no big plans for the near future for the US market, but likely follow the situation and have it on their 'to look moreinto list'. But it's good generel marketing for the brand, around the world, with a Scania on US road, as it's unusual and will draw attention. Scania has actually developed a Longline cab v2, or XXL as the also call it, and are testing prototypes as of 2024.. At an too early stage for Bruce's project, but will guess he get's his hand on such a model in the future, if they decide to take the XXL cab into production

  9.  @spyro257  I mean yes, a Scania cabover will be interesting to a part of the market, like intercity transport, vocational trucks (dump trucks and so on) But the Us truckers love their hoods and big sleeper trucks, they will always be around, along with potentially more cabovers in the future

  12. Guess the issue can be avoided by building a factory/assembly plant in the US, as Volvo, and build Scania's spected according to US regulations. But then again, there has to be enough interest and demand for Scania to do such a big investment

  13. A manufacturer can get a demo truck in, with a permit for 1 year at the time. Lots of paperwork and lawyers involved nevertheless

  14. The americans are used to cabs sitting quite low, less hassle getting in and out. Maybe he had that in mind going for the lower R cab. But would been cool with a S770, but possible no big deal

  18.  @erik....  if they in the future go for the US market, they will have a factory there for assembly to avoid import taxes and so on. But that's aonther story. First there must be a certain interest.

  19. Guess they do not think a lot of the US market, but this channel got viewers all over the world so it's generally a fine PR opportunity. In the future, they might go for the US market, who knows.

  22. Taking more space to drive around due to longer wheelbase, is quite likely 'not best'. Cabovers are the most practical, and the reason sales slowed and Scania ended production in 2005. Looked cool, I agree. The cartonish looking Dutch hybrid T-cab can't be counted as a real Scania.

  23.  @mej6519  Agreed. If Scania go for the US market, thye will possible develop a T-cab with a big sleeper, and the caboers will be more for local tramsport

  24.  @martinlaurie1971  US trucker will likely not prefare a cabover with a small sleeper for stayng on the road for weeks at the time, as long as there will be other options aviable.

  26. He is going to transport it on a trailer now and then around the US, as there will be some restrictions where this demo truck will be allowed to drive on it's own. The S cab too tall.

  34. Plenty. But it's easier to get a new Euro truck into the US market if it's to be used as a demo truck only. + lot's of paperwork

  35.  @darek4488  Volvo and Mercedes Benz (Freightliner & others) sells a lot in US..;) It's just to own some production failities in the US, its no rocket science
