  2. it's the last big stunt of the last generation of soviet minded people in charge in russia. They are fighting for status quo, keeping in power and keeping their wealth. Soon they all will be gone and 6 feet under, and a more modern type of humans will take over. Hopefully they will do better getting along with the rest of the world
