  1. This workshop and how it's operated is just a reflection of the general economy in the country. This is possible copies of original parts, that the local market preferes due to lower price. The volume may not be high enough to invest (if capital even avaiable) in automated equipment, and better bulidings, higher educated workers and so on. So it's cheaper having these guys working almost for free, on old equipment, in old run down buildings

  2. It's all their customers can afford. Very little capital. Keep on buying a 100 usd crankshaft every year because can't raise initial capital to buy a 300 usd crankshaft that would last for 10 years. or something like that. poverty

  3. The workshop just reflects the customer base and society around. The local market want as cheap parts as possible, and don't care if they need to replace a crankshaft once a year instead of every 10 years
