Denmark was occupied by the Germans. that said, it's good the Us has stayed in Greenland since ww2, kept it and the surrounding region safe. When Putin's man in Ukraine was kicked out of office in 2014, and the Ukrainians wanting to turn to the west, away from 'mother russia' and the vintage russian mindset, Putin started suppling rebels in Donbass with weapons and 'unbranded' russian troops. It was all about securing the Russian millitary base that they had on the Ukrainian Crimea. Naturally the Ukrainian government answered, wanted to put down the rebel revolt, like any nation would do.

Exactly hitting the correct target from a long distance, is another issue. Such operations can be potential false flag.Tatarstan, sounds like one of those far away from Moscow regions the regime prefare to take soilders from first of all. On the other hand, with the promise of high payments the regime lure 'poor country boys' into the war, it seams such false flag operations are not particualary needed in order to get enough men into the war. In this case both the ukrainians and the russians states this was a 'ukrainian operation'. One never know for sure. the war is a mess, whoever do what anyway
