  4. Tidal and wave energy not put totally at hold in Norwy, but was bigger activity regarding study it a few years back. These days nuclear power is more popular to study as an extra supply of power. There are quite large potential thorium resources in Norway

  9. All countries have poor people. Even though Norway got poor people, the country and it's population in general is better off than 98% of the world population. Yes, I know, that is not of big comfort to Norwegians struggling to make ends meet. No one have to freeze or starve to death in Norway.

  10. Just take a taxi the couple of -20 days then. Majority of Norwegians do see less than -10 jsut a handful days a year. There is no lack of fossil cars out there for those living in the coldest places

  13.  @jamesgoode9246  Last couple of years it has been written more than before in Norwegian media regarding nuclear energy and thorium. The Hydro power potential is getting close to be fully developed in Norway and last 10 years quite a few large wind turbine parks have been put up onshore, which now have led to quite large public resistance, lots of people and ounties do not want to see more wind turbines being put up. This has been leading one to look more into other optional energy sources. Europe's largest disccovered concentration of rare earth minerals/metals is located not far away from Oslo , the capital, 'Fensfeltet'. Mixed with the minerals is large amiunts of Thorium , a local company has plans ready for taking use of the 'tailings', left overs, from mining the rare earth metals, making a concentrate selling it to future nuclear plants. It's pretty intersting seeing the development within Thorium nuclear plants the later years, how they can make them so compact, putting it in 40 foot shipping containers. Might see something being commercial within a not too distance future
