  1.  @harm7602vicount-Visconti  There is a former foregin minister of Russia, in the 90's, that are interviewed now and then in US TV channels, and he is living in the US for many years now. many will call him 'biased', but anyway he is able to give some good insight in the mindset of Soviet and Russian leadership through the years, as he was a part of it. One typical thing he pointed out was that there was a general fear among the ministers and advicers of the leader, now Putin, to tell all the actual facts what's going on out there. They more wanted to tell what they expected the leader wanted to hear. And as a former KGB agent Putin was kind of 'I know it all the best', and not so much listened to his advicers, that actually had facts from the field. One speculated if it actually could be that Putin was convinced to a degree that it was nazies governing Ukraine, that their army was weak and would surrender after some few days, the president run away abrioad, while the people would belcome being liberated by the Russians, as this was what his adviceres think he wanted the most to hear. Regarding NATO vs Putin on one hand feared them supporting a coup but on the other hand also 'enjoyed' them pushing up to the russian borders as he could use NATO as an excuse for the bad economic situation among russians in general. This vs the fact that Russia is among the richest nations in the world when it comes to natural resources, and people should have quite some higher standard of living if not most of the money went into the pockets of a small elite. 'NATO is threathing Russia very much, and are just waiting for a chance to invade us like Hitler in ww2, we are forced to spend enorumous amounts of our country's money on weapons, so this is why you the people, must accept living a simple life. But not worry, your strong leader for life will protect you from evil NATO'

  2. that's the most likely way to get rid of him, someone in the inner circle come together against him. But it's very risky to persons in the circle to mention anything about such to some other person there. Putin as a dictator is very on the watch out for what the people close to him are doing. He might sit in position a couple of years more. Much depends on how Russia will do economically forward

  4.  @misterboot6682  The power of these oligarks when it comes to the politics in Russia seem a bit misunderstood by many. Yeah in the 90's, when it was 'wild west' in Russia, many of them got some bigger influence beyond their business and town, but Putin came around and took the grip of political power to himself and his military and spy buddies. Taking yachts of oligarks, oh come on. 'Putin, hey, they took my yacht, you better stop fooling around with the tanks or else I'll not let you borrow my yacht again. Ever. Yeeeah.. the one I do not have anymore'

  5. In Russia everyone not beliving 100% what are told them on the state TV, and have other opinions than the Putin regime have decided as the official truth, are considered 'traitors'. Russia are developing more and more as a new North Korea. Most brain power have moved, and are moving out of the country, left are the ones who not care

  6. He has been anti-Putin formany years, also before the arrest. Something that explains something? Well, Putin has become more and more of a dictator, have had laws changed and gotten more and more power, and being able to be sitting potenitially many more years, 15(?) As a 'strongman' he feels for showing off for his people now and then, to justify all the power he have gotten, to save them from outer threaths, the evil Nato, nacies in Ukraine, space invaders and so on.

  7. His army is are struggling and not much to brag about. Maybe he got some airforce power at hand that are a bit more professional, who knows. The US and others have sources within the circle of Putin, and have a certain clue what's going on, a bit early on, hopefully, as the invation of ukraine was predicted
