Have in mind when reading the book, that there have been issues within the Trump family for years regarding some parts of the family, including Mary, feeling that Donald got too much of the Fred Trump inheritage, and others too little. Family fauds very often boils down to money in the end. Mary is not first of all out to 'save the country from her uncle', but also getting a kind of revenge for some personal business within the family.
