@SammySam316 Trump can run for 2020. It's all up to the Senate, if the inquiry reach them. He can run for 2020 even if 'removed from office' by the Senate, as a default, if they don't specially decide that he can not. The theory behind the impeachment inquiry is the hope it will give Trump a worse reputation, make it harder for him to win 2020. We never know if it will be handed over to the Senate, the court for any further process. There are no big surprises here, it was very likely to come an impeachment from the House sooner or later after the Dem's won the house. We did just not know what exact impeachment reasons that would be chosen.

A problem is the impeachment is pretty vague, mostly based on hearsay. All presidents who want a second term will more or less likely touch into some gray zones in their eager to gain support. the majority of american people are not too interested in technicalities like this, which is more typical issues for DC power games, but more interested in things important too them, things they can 'see and touch', like jobs, economy. Impeach and removed from office is 2 very different things. Only the court, the Senate, will determine if the 'impeachment' is a serious enough offense to be remove from office. The impeachment is based one quite vague issues, a president supposedly saying and doing things in order to have a better chance of getting reelected, which is something all presidents wanting a second term do. But anyway, it's the last desperate hope for the Dems to come in power, to win 2020, so most people understand them do everything they can. they know their candidates and policies for 2020 is not strong enough.

'Impeachment/ removed from office' and 'Impeachment-inquiry' is 2 different things. There has now been voted 'yes' for a 'Impeachment-inquiry'. So far we have seen no Impeachments in the US history, and likely we will not see one this time either. 'Trump being Trump' and doing big mouthed talk over the phone with Ukraine will likely not be seen at by the court/Senate, to have been a big enough offence to the nation and people, that he will be removed. there will just be a warning 'chill donald, chill'

'Impeachment' and 'removed from office' is 2 different things. 'Impeachment' is just a formality, a 'working title' for the case of having someone removed from office. Hilary will not have the 'best day of her life' of seeing someone having a 'bowling ball' in their hand. The bowling ball is nothing worth until one are able to throw it and have a full score.

@ILoveGrilledCheese One of her big mistakes was to devote too much time to California and New York, large liberal states where the Democrats would win anyway, and too little time into the critical states where traditionally the Rep and Dems have been quite even.

@ILoveGrilledCheese the USA is in practical 50 countries/states. Some states have large populations, others have small populations, often with large natural resources. The electoral system is about among else to even out the power a bit in Washington DC between the large populated states like California, New York and all the states with far less population. it's about not having the large states totally overrun all the smaller states. No system is perfect, but the electoral college is what the US have chosen and had all the time. Put on the very edge, say if Norway was a part of EU, and because of a small population they had just 3 members in the parliament, but you had x5 more natural resources than the whole EU combined, that everybody was dreaming about. 'Knock knock, hey Norway, we will like to inform you that we, the EU, today has decided in a vote 80 to 3 that you need to give us 80% of your wealth, as we think you don't need that much on your own'. The electoral college do not favor on party ahead of the other, just check the facts. In the last 112 years there have been 15 Rep and 14 Dem, and in 2024 it will like say 15 to 15.
