@thesmithersy most of sub Saharan Africa had no settlers yet developed the same. You did nothing deserving of gratitude. And it's proof the natives could in fact brave the worst of a world without you. Things are already getting better.

@johnpederson5873 shouldn't he have been living with his own people? And decolonisation is everybody's right.
2
@johnpederson5873 Juris Solis is cultural and not an inherent right. Many countries don't use it. Being a part of a land is only possible if the indigenous people accept you. Smith and the Rhodesians never sought that acceptance and capitalized on their otherness by self segregating. They were Europeans. No one wanted, asked for, or accepted their government. And by the way, Smith always considered himself British.

Because of Rhodesia's racism and ridiculousness.
1
@sonsofthesilentage994 none of that makes sense. What does Mugabe have to do with Rhodesia's racism?
1
@sonsofthesilentage994 you wouldn't have one from what I can tell.
1
@sonsofthesilentage994 the Matabele people make up 20 percent of the population. The Rhodesians are extinct though.
1
@sonsofthesilentage994 I'm proud of a native African destroying an oppressive colonial population. I'm not sure why you're talking about me being proud of anything else.
1
@sonsofthesilentage994 it's a life. Rhodesians are dead. Deal with it.
1
@sonsofthesilentage994 yet the country lives over the corpses of Rhodesians.
1
Actually he claimed Rhodesia was not governed with race as a consideration. He later admitted that wasn't true. He was a liar.

@ByIatt give me a minute.

@jamesmccann355 forgot.

https://youtu.be/t1OzfpPtJoQ In the first ten minutes he admits 50 out of 66 seats in parliament are reserved for whites.
1
@jamesmccann355 I gave my evidence.

What a tragedy. A white supremacist government in Africa was replaced by an indigenous one.
1
@thesmithersy a black supremacist government that was in its own homeland. And Smith planned on 50:50 white and black government in the distant future while permanently maintaining the colour bar. You really expect me to be thankful for an alien permanently opposing majority rule in my homeland?
1
@thesmithersy South Africa was. And that's no concern of yours, is it?
1
@johnpederson5873 they segregated the country by race, called the blacks racial slurs and forced the blacks to live on the worst land.
1
@christophera556 indeed.
1
@CommanderLongJohn stop writing so much. Most of this is irrelevant to what you're trying to communicate.
1
@CommanderLongJohn Rhodesia was segregated into a white area and a black area. Blacks were not allowed into the white area outside the curfews. Blacks also could not purchase land in the white area and schools were segregated. The icing on the cake was 50 out of 66 seats in parliament were reserved for whites. The RLI was white only by the way. No one has any right to rule anyone else against their will. I do not want or need aliens from Europe or anywhere else ruling over an inch of my country.
1
@CommanderLongJohn try more name calling. It seems you've run out of everything else.
1
@CommanderLongJohn if you feel that, shouldn't you be arguing Europeans should have never come to Southern Rhodesia?
1
@CommanderLongJohn just for fun. The plan was for parliament to be split evenly between blacks and whites in the very distant future. All the while maintaining segregation. The minority government had no right to impose this over the indigenous people against their will.

@whenwe9168 because the quality of life is higher in South Africa.
