There is no honour in war, there are no rules in war, there is only death an your ability to deal faster an harder then the other guy. Thats it. If you are looking for whats right you should seek religion. Secondly your talking about hard people the Russians are unforgiving, unrelenting, can live of Just basic supplies kind of people. They will undoubtedly use whatever they have to do as much damage as possible. Be realistic with the enemy. They won't care if they use banned weapons. They just want to Annex Ukraine at any cost.
