Same with spark plugs , ngk for denso, Autolites for older fords, etc. Multiple times try to interchange and get immediate misfires or early failures.

Obviously someone has worked on this previously. Someone either not qualified, too cheap, dishonest or all the above. Sounds like they're looking for a free inspection, diagnoses. At least Florida has the waiver to cover you. My state you can refuse and are actually obligated to not allow an unsafe vehicle drive off the premises. And have had cars towed , pushed etc. Only to hear ball joint snapped 5 days later etc. But I've seen this abused as well. Where employees are told to dismantle beyond driveability. Where the 49.95 brake job turns out to be 795.99 job. Personally I'd rather have the waiver. Certain customers will never be happy. And aren't worth dealing with. Get an oil change, 3 months later blaming you for a flat tire. While steel cords hanging out on remaining tires. Skepticism is one thing, psychotic fears that every mechanic is out to screw you. And every little thing that goes wrong with your car is their fault because you fail to do the simplest of maintenance. No thanks.

Looks like whoever did the silicone job, used too much and didn't give it enough setup time before installing and running. As far as prefill. Following manufacturers procedures at least keeps warranty intact and liability to a minimum. Regardless whether it says prefill or not. With today's lighter weight oils distribution is quicker. It has to be with ohc, vvt etc. And if your still headstrong about prefill, just fill it through the smaller holes. Viola your oil is filtered, just takes time. Older engines that use heavier weight oils and larger capacity filtration may require prefill. Or priming. (Crank until oil pressure is gained before actual running. ) Back in the day, up to 30% of engine wear was attributed to startup. And that short time it took to get oil where it's needed. Especially in cold weather. Bottom line. Follow manufacturers procedures and read the fine print. Because if you don't, regardless of what you did is responsible or not, You will get blamed if something goes wrong. CYA. Great video. 👍👍
