  1. Obviously someone has worked on this previously. Someone either not qualified, too cheap, dishonest or all the above. Sounds like they're looking for a free inspection, diagnoses. At least Florida has the waiver to cover you. My state you can refuse and are actually obligated to not allow an unsafe vehicle drive off the premises. And have had cars towed , pushed etc. Only to hear ball joint snapped 5 days later etc. But I've seen this abused as well. Where employees are told to dismantle beyond driveability. Where the 49.95 brake job turns out to be 795.99 job. Personally I'd rather have the waiver. Certain customers will never be happy. And aren't worth dealing with. Get an oil change, 3 months later blaming you for a flat tire. While steel cords hanging out on remaining tires. Skepticism is one thing, psychotic fears that every mechanic is out to screw you. And every little thing that goes wrong with your car is their fault because you fail to do the simplest of maintenance. No thanks.
