  1. Industry has finally started to convert in the U.S. All new cars are metric as well as military ships. Just for ease of world access to things as simple as nuts and bolts. Personally I prefer it. No conversions from fraction decimal. It's base ten. And cooking truly prefer weight measuring over volume. Way more accurate. Especially in baking. Cup of flour can vary by 20% depending how packed it is. And increasing or decreasing recipes are easy when in grams. Like bread. If you know your water to flour ratio say 70%. Every 100 grams flour, 70 grams flour. No measuring cups needed. Been a long haul. We started teaching it in schools in the 1970s. But never really took hold. I was fortunate because I worked on a lot of foreign cars. That are almost all metric. Great video, very informational.
