  1. Disney's special status should have been at least reviewed and revised decades ago. Elephant in the room, look who really owns Disney theme parks now. It's all the more reason to even the playing field. I'll say it again. The special status or tax breaks corporations get are based on the premise that they benefit the community and state more. Trying to undo legally enacted laws put in place by due process, causing and funding dissension amongst the public, costing taxpayers. On matters that have little concern to your immediate business is not beneficial for the community or state. That is in affect a breach of the agreement. An agreement I highly suspect many a politician got paid handsomely to vote for to begin with. Would not be surprised if a few made some money on a no vote on this latest bill as well. Thank goodness they were outnumbered and common sense prevailed. Even without their special status, they'll still fair far better in Florida than California. Provided they haven't alienated all their customer base yet.
