Another person that could give a rat's behind about environment. But ain focus is about socialism. Majority are for an intelligent investments in viable long term alternative energy. Green new deal achieve none of this. It is a political ploy for the leftist to fast track elimination of necessary energy sources and put our reliance on foreign hostile regions for those resources. In order to build an ever expanding government run entity. Alternative energy, on a large scale will never work with current power grid infrastructure. Ask any competent engineer. Heck ask California, or Texas. Produce all the power you want. If you can't deliver it when needed. It's useless. As far as federal lands. Belong to America not president or cabinet. Great things have been achieved. Great mistakes have been made. Fire suppression for decades have been one of our biggest mistakes. Then to let them run after building up decades of tinder and fuel, another. Common sense would tell someone. Limited harvesting immediately to reduce the unnatural over abundance of that tinder would reduce chances of fire and most importantly the severity of those fires. So long term fires don't damage mature healthy trees. Gas and oil in America are among the cleanest in the world and improving every year. To stop that only increases carbon foot print. They are and will be necessary in conversion to alternatives. Especially as demand for electric power will skyrocket with increase of electric cars. Again talk to any non political engineer. An overall plan and realistic timeline of power generation locations and grid system needs to happen. First. Then grid upgrades could start asap. Otherwise it's Texas and California on a nationwide scale. Details are complex. But the concept pretty simple. Other than that we will be wasting money. On short term projects that produce more wasted energy and cause more pollution than they save.
