Union is not always worker
friendly my friend..
I know.
Just received a letter saying my vested retirement has been taken by the union. By their words underachieving investments.
By my observations has been multiple fraud committed by union officers/officials. Including 10's if thousands of dollars by just one officer in my local. Investments in lavish headquarters and personal wealth.
Getting paid not only by company but dues as well.
This doesn't even bring into play the absurd efforts they put into saving strung out drug addicts who not only affect production but safety of their fellow workers.
Unions have a place. They have the ability to protect workers safety, get a decent wage.(not exorbitant for job being done. Entry or unskilled labor gets same pay as skilled labor). Reasonable benefits with a company commitment for internal promoting and education/training to facilitate that.
Most companies are willing to do that. In fact some have gone far beyond that. In apprenticeship programs starting in high school.
Because they realize that their long time skilled laborers are retiring at a faster rate than can be replaced. And no classroom can teach what they know.
Big unions are turning into big government.
Where both have lost their focus and primary objectives.
Companies aren't cash cows that you can milk without feeding and breeding.
It costs money for feed, barn, help equipment etc.
Worker needs to show up.
Because ain't nothing worse than trying to milk a pissed off cow. Cuz her udder is killing her. Cuz your a no show because your hung over or strung out.
That one move cuts milk production long term and puts your replacement at risk.
Sorry for the analogy.
The sob stories I hear or seeing social media are large in part from unions not doing their job.
Or non union members just not knowing where to go to get straight answers to fill out the myriads of paperwork. If it's work related.
Get a lawyer. Plain and simple.
Union provided or not.
No fan of lawyers, a necessary part of protecting your rights though.
Do your due diligence. In checking them out.
Like all workers. Some are better than others.
Again common sense.
Not a socialist view. One who empties a trash can deserve the same pay as a welder, fitter, machinist, straightener, etc.
The great reset does not mean we have to go back into the dark ages, .
Again unions have a place. But when they refuse to work based on extorsion. When they are already are failing in job performance and productivity.
Well it is time to clean house.
Or move business elsewhere.
Capitalism, socialism. Etc.
Junk is junk.
You produce garbage don't expect a long term demand for your product.
Includes education.
