Simple history and why D.C. was created should be enough for any person to understand why it shouldn't be a state. Our nations capitol should not be tied to any one state. And have to rely on that state for security or daily operating needs. This was why it was moved from Philadelphia in the first place. Because local ,state failed to provide security to the capitol. Because of opposing political views. This constant clamouring by the left to make it a state is nothing more than a political power grab. They could care less about the people of D.C.. They just want the seats in the House and Senate it represents. Meanwhile would put our nation's capitol at great risk of being heavily dependant on a partisan run state. Again. This was the very reason why D.C. was created. So that no, one state, had undue influence over the nation's capitol. Either through political means, or access or denial of security, or basic needs of power, water, sewer, transportation. Etc... How many times do we have to repeat failed policies, before we admit they don't work? 2022 can't come fast enough.
