  1. Extending this is wrong in so many ways. Especially on a national level. And states are skimming billions off the 40+ billion allocated for assistance. A lot are only reimbursing a percentage of back rent and only going back a few months. Pretty good when the federal government will pay 350 dollars a night to put up illegal border crossers in a hotel room for who knows how long. Yet won't pay a landlord the rent for living quarters they basically seized by proxy. For almost 18 months. Moratorium on evictions doesn't mean the rent or mortgage went away. Nor did it reduce in price. Landlords mortgages, property taxes , utilities, maintenance costs didn't go away nor did they reduce in cost in most cases, most likely increased if anything. Since when is one section of the private sector forced by the government to provide direct welfare to the public okay? Or legal? Especially without full compensation.
