@CallMeJonesy Or maybe try this -- maybe you can be a decent human being and drive yourself to help the next generation(s) experience an improved state of living? Allow that to be your primary motivation. By nature, "God-people" live fraudulently, because they engage in good deeds out of fear. With all that said, I'm not saying you're an asshole or that all religious falks are bad people. Clearly, that's a ridiculous notion. But at this point in our evolution, it is unbelievable that some people still need a god-fearing element incorporated into their lives in order to stear them towards being a more altruistic person. This is why we should believe in one another: https://www.ted.com/talks/viktor_frankl_youth_in_search_of_meaning?utm_campaign=tedspread&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=tedcomshare

@CallMeJonesy So you have no purpose without the concept of an afterlife waiting for you? That's some sad shit. Not to mention that it's a somewhat childish notion. Plus, if you follow any of the ideologies of the abrahamic doctrines then you subscribe to crazy ideas, such as the earth being 6700-yrs-old to name one. In addition, I could list 100 quotes from any said text that are taken in context which are both barbaric and empirically false. I know existential thoughts may scare you, but to believe in a fairytales is a disservice to yourself. And if you happen to be a fundamentalist you have a bit of sense, but no intellectual spine. Have a nice time in the afterlife where everything is perfect and eternal: naive.
