  1. Pursuit of knowledge inclines you to be both open-minded and empathetic, which is associated with liberals. Conversely, close-minded and regressive attitudes are now a part of what is considered conservatives. Conservatives used to be the better educated on the political spectrum but fiscal conservatism has been replaced by far-right suppression and fear-mongering. If conservatives stopped idolizing half-wits, education could be valued again.
