  1. That's not a realistic number. I don't think America should just open the borders and allow all comers but this idea that the country doesn't benefit from illegal immigration is nonsense. All immigrants live somewhere meaning they pay rent. They work somewhere on reduced salaries meaning they provide cheaper labor than American citizens. (They also do jobs Americans don't want.) They buy food and clothes which includes sales tax. All of these things contribute to our economy. If the two co-heads of an agency on government efficiency don't know how to calculate economic cost, maybe they shouldn't be trusted with such an important job.
