So the education isn't as good in smaller towns where there's fewer opportunities and less growth, huh? Do you think there's a correlation between the lack of proper schooling and the number students that aren't able to move on to other places??

Nazis are nationalists which are far-right, Greg.

Maybe that's a sign that the outrage comes from unfounded claims and is being inflamed by far-right media...

The playbook for making fascism seem reasonable: 1. Make "conservatives" feel like victims, to make them feel like they’ve lost something and that the thing they’ve lost has been taken from them by a specific enemy - the Democrats. 2. Freedom requires truth, and so to smash freedom you must smash truth. 3. Transform a lie into a new reality, and then persuade people to believe in the unreality they’ve created. 4. Get followers to sign on to this fantasy version of reality, usually a nationalist narrative about the decline of the country and the need for a strong leader to return it to greatness, and from then on their anchor isn’t the world around them — it’s the leader.

Cancun?

The loss of power has meant a concerted effort by far-right politicians and media to divide Americans. It's a sad spot for our country.

Educating children?

Better yet, deny your child education. Let them grow up in your echo chamber where they'll never learn anything about the world around them and they'll never know what they're missing. Zero downside to this plan!

@AnonYmous-wf1oz college is just a communist indoctrination factory! At conservative school, they'll learn America First and Build the Wall instead of mathematics, reading or science - which is a Democrat hoax! Four legs good, two legs bahhhd!

@robinjohnson9915 do you think that area is left-leaning because they're better educated and, as a result, wealthier? Hard to argue with those results. I wouldn't want to take that opportunity away from school children, would you?

Dark money groups have paid people to message the intent of programs of public schools because it's politically advantageous. Conservative parents aren't being silenced, they've been misinformed and think the teachers and school boards are indoctrinating kids. The whole thing is a mess and FOX pouring gasoline on the fire isn't helping.

Yeah! Use your political views to ruin a man's career, you can do it!

It works for religious cults, why not try indoctrination with your children??

No one refers to the Republican Party as "the party of diversity and inclusion".
1
The rightwing disinformation campaign has incited "parents" to threaten school board members over a misunderstanding of content and curriculum.

Cancun? That's where he usually runs off to when doing something for Texans is needed...

If you lived under totalitarianism, you wouldn't be able to write a public comment about it.

It wasn't a public meeting which is why the police were called. Not all meetings are public.

Trusting your child's education to educators is a much better alternative than a parents board. These same educators taught the parents and they have opportunities and a base that they'd deny their kids by thinking they know better.

Do you mean Abbott's administration? The Texas Department of Education is state, not federal.
1
Public schools don't work for you. They ensure children aren't denied education and work tirelessly to prepare the next generation. This war on education is just ridiculous!
