In her case she is typical of that middle income strata raised by a system that lauds the efforts of mass murderers like Stalin or Mao or Lenin and where only Hitler is seen as the ultimate evil. He was certainly a monster...but so were the others...but that's not what these types of socialists read. They see "underdogs". Too funny...and sick. So so sick.

  3. L B I already live in a country where some of her ideals have been implemented. Socialized medicine for instance. Our system is okay but disorganized. For instance, I had to lie in order to get the surgery I knew would help me. The system guarantees you have to "work it" in order to receive treatment. It is not free. Everyone pays for it; ergo, socialized medicine. Would it work in the States? That depends. Would a strata of medical practitioners be willing to have their income capped at under $500,000 a year? Or $300,000 a year? $200,000 a year? In Canada a GP is regulated at under $300,000 a year. Vets and dentists can make more than our doctors. Figure that one out. Getting rid of ICE? No. Better to reorganize it. $15 an hour wage or universal guaranteed work? Guaranteed work is used in China(which now relies on corvee labor(pittance slavery) to make the smart phones that you and I and Cortez use. It's also used in Cuba where lawyers and teachers and doctors work at tourist resorts to make ends meet, because making $10 U.S a day as a lawyer is all you're allowed to make in Cuba(the country Michael Moore lauded in Sicko). Would she bring those jobs currently in China back to the States? China would have something to say about it, don't you think? She is another in a long long line of muddle headed idealists that don't like people in general(including the working classes) but loves the "idea" of a people she thinks they can be or should be according to her metric. It's not her fault. Everyone thinks that way. Problem is in some cases it leads to war and mass genocide.

  4. L B I have socialist leanings myself. I agree with socialized medicine. I also agree that one has an obligation to help others(as part of a larger social hegemony) but only in so far that they choose to do so. In Canada, as an example, less than 2 million people are responsible for providing all the blood products needed by everyone else. Less than 3% of the population.Even less sign for organ donation, stem cell or bone marrow donation. I do all of them(not virtue signalling, just a point about Canada's picture on the world stage and its real face). Most Canadians in the central parts of Canada(Ontario, the Eastern provinces) would consider themselves ardent socialists. That doesn't carry over to providing people with a part of themselves that might save another person's life. When a person says they are socialist I typically tune out because in my experience they're full of shit. For instance, did you know that Tommy Douglas, the father of our nationalized health system and an ardent socialist, as well as Kiefer Sutherland's grandfather, wrote his masters on why certain people should be sterilized? He was named the Greatest Canadian on a television program back in the early 2000's. People were, in fact, sterilized as a result of his and others beliefs. That's where socialism can lead.
