I was at a friend's apartment for dinner some years ago and I had noticed that she had visited Turkey. She was Croatian by birth. I had mentioned off hand why would a feminist like yourself visit a majority Muslim country like Turkey. She became visibly upset, ran into her room and brought back a copy of THE BOOK and wanted me to point out where in THE BOOK it mentioned treating women like slaves. When I pointed out several passages, she explained that I had misinterpreted THE BOOK. She had been in Turkey for 1 month. That was the last time I spoke with her.
