  1. They've known for the better part of a decade that post pneumonia syndrome (now referred to as Long Covid??? Why?????) exists. Lung damage occurs due to pneumonia and double pneumonia. This leaves microscopic scarring on the lungs. Oxygen exchange is compromised due to this. So, you now have lungs that work at 95%- capacity. That 5% means the brain and other organs are no longer receiving the level of oxygen they require leading to: Brain "fog" Fatigue Depression Headaches Muscular aches Etc. This post pneumonia syndrome can be permanent for some and they've known this for the better part of a decade as well. It also causes increased mortality levels for the aged.
