  1. It's not just happening in the universities but in the ELEMENTARY schools. This is specific to Canada. A friend who is in the teaching stream(kindergarten to grade 3) was called on the carpet because of the protestations of an 8 year old. This educator's crime? This 8 year old child complained about the term "black crayon". According to this child the term "black crayon" was racist and they complained about it. One child had asked another child for the crayon. That was it. When my friend explained to the child that the word black was merely a descriptor of the crayon, the child was having none of it. An 8 year old. Not the 18-21 year old children Heather and Bret had to deal with wielding baseball bats and threatening their lives, but an 8 year old. My friend still teaches, thank goodness, as they are an excellent educator. But the very thought that an 8 year old would command that kind of power is frightening beyond belief. Causing a 30 something to fear losing their ability to work in the field that they love... I've been told that this is a conservative fantasy I drummed up. No. This actually happened.
