  1. Mearsheimer and others predicted this years ago. Putin will WRECK the Ukraine if the EU, the West and NATO kept pushing...after they promised they wouldn't. This is a 50-50 split of blame. The West, of course, refuses to concede this. Chomsky is merely reiterating what Mearsheimer predicted. The Ukraine IS wrecked. The West deciding to fight this war tacitly with Russia WILL lead to bad bad bad things. Look to history. We ARE repeating ourselves.
