  3. Except the Ukrainians can't use true NATO combined arms tactics, they don't have control of the air. It was unrealistic of NATO to expect Ukraine to use NATO tactics with out the required air support. Its wise to withdraw the Abrams, there is no point in taking unnecessary loses.

  4. There is no point in sending small numbers of vehicles to allow Ukraine to hold the ground and defend. They need enough vehicles to put together a offensive battlegroup that can advance and clear ground in the coming summer fighting. Otherwise the war will just drag on.

  32. War is sick. However Russia started this war and Ukraine has every right to defend itself. If cluster munitions are more effective at stopping and if modern rounds can seek targets it helps to stop the Russians freely moving around, damaging their vehicles etc. Therefore reducing your own casualties. The use of cluster munitions is justified. War isn't fair.

  37.  @richardmarsden5610  That is why Russia would be very stupid to attack NATO, NATO air forces are likely to achieve and maintain air superiority/dominance. It was rather unreasonable of Nato to expect the Ukrainians to advance last summer with no decent air support. Its not something NATO would consider as a tactic.

  39.  @1chish  unlikely to be a fatigue problem. Military aircraft usually fly many less hours than civilian equivalents. It would have been reported in the aviation/defence press if this was the case. I understand these aircraft are being passed to the US for training. The reason for withdrawal from service is an incompetent UK Government defence policy.
