@1chish unlikely to be a fatigue problem. Military aircraft usually fly many less hours than civilian equivalents. It would have been reported in the aviation/defence press if this was the case. I understand these aircraft are being passed to the US for training. The reason for withdrawal from service is an incompetent UK Government defence policy.

@newton18311 sentinels were withdrawn from service about 2 mths ago.

The usual bull and waffle by Wing Commander Fanny Pants. Another stupid defence policy by this inept UK government, reducing RAF capability before a replacement aircraft is in service. The Wedgetails have been reduced from 5 to 3 aircraft.

@newton18311 Poseidon undertake a different task that Sentry/Sentinel. Poseidon are anti-submarine/anti shipping, Sentinel were electronic reconnaissance, Sentry were airborne early warning/fighter control of the airspace.

@gusgone4527 Trouble at the moment would be persuading lads to join. Would you fight for the blonde clown in Downing St. When I was in the RAF was 90000 blokes, 400 combat aircraft. Sure capability and technology get better. The last figure i saw as 35000 blokes and 140 combat aircraft. Far too small

@skylongskylong1982 why would we want a free fall bomb? Outdated delivery method. Too prone to being shot down on the way to the target.
