  5. 1 major issue with mass nuclear energy production is cooling. What cools the rods in the reactors? Water. In the event water becomes scarce, the plant can't be cooled. Take care of that issue and nukes rule the future. Also, it's possible to have electronic vehicles powered by a small nuclear core insulated in the vehicle. Nuclear power will most likely lead the way for interstellar travel due to the length at which energy can be produced from a small reactor core. A half life from an isotope can be 80 years - all the while creating power in the process.
