The Soviet economy had a percapital GDP equal to that of Spain and Italy. let's just say what if the Soviets were in everyone's present day where 50% of the population got a salary of around 2000 usd. everyone gets the same salary 600 ft² house. no unemployment no homelessness and no need for a second job. pension guarantee. free health and education. and cheap public transportation where people cycle and take the train to work. I don't know if it's good or bad

@hiddenInsight486 everyone had a job in the USSR. and no unemployment. 75% of doctors and hotel employees are women. 30% of scientists are women. in the Soviet Union there was no difference in salary between men and women as in the west. women retire at the age of 55. and male at the age of 65 years. because everyone is an employee then when they retire they get their pension

@jrus690 they use buses and trains. Public transportation can carry more people than private cars. As seen in the movies even if you have a car you have to leave it. the government only gave 1 hour for everyone to get rid of all their belongings. and they lined up for evacuation. Anyone who messes up during the evacuation will be shot directly by the police

@jrus690 Imagine if it happened in the United States where everyone fled in private cars? a bus can carry 60 people while 1 car only carries 1 family 4/5 people. and what about the children who are still in school. in ussr they evacuate students who are in school simultaneously with all residents. Many parents take the bus but not with their children. this actually speeds up the evacuation time
