there were many famines in the world such as (Persian famine of 1917 and 1943), (Great India Famine of 1876, Indian famine of 1896 and 1899, Bengal famine of 1943), (Chinese famine of 1906, 1928, and 1942), (Russian empire 1891),
And what about other famines in the Soviet Union 1921and 1946).
And why is it only the 1930 famine that killed 3.5 million Ukrainians, 2 million Kazakhs, and 0.5 million Russians that gets a special name and only Ukrainians get the status of victims. while Russia and Kazakhs do not.
holodomor is just a buzzer word. because the west hated the economic growth of the Soviet Union during the 1930s. while the capitalist economy is all over the place.
At least Gaza Strip famine 2023 should have a special name too, bro.#consistent

@whitezombie10 When experiencing a financial crisis due to the war in Europe, in order to nourish its economy, the Dutch government appointed Johannes van den Bosch to serve as governor general in the Dutch East Indies (1830-1833). Just moments after arriving in Batavia, van den Bosch immediately implemented the cultuurstelsel system.
In implementing this system of forced cultivation, he appointed the Nederlandsche Handels Maatschappij (NHM), a trading company founded by the King of the Netherlands in 1824, after the bankruptcy of the VOC. Until now, the NHM building still stands firmly in the Jakarta city area, not far from Beos Train Station. Until the 1960s, the area where this magnificent building stood was called the factori, the folk name for the NHM.
This giant company has the privilege of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to transport and sell Indonesian crops, most of which come from the forced cultivation system. With this system, the colonial government was very easy and cheap to obtain the desired crops to be sold on the world market. Meanwhile, those who do not own land are required to do forced labor for 60 days a year.
According to the provisions, people are required to plant one-fifth of their land with plants that can be sold abroad. There are many abuses committed by corrupt officials in its implementation. As the people are required to plant a third or even half of their land with plants that have been determined by the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
With the politics of intimidation and violence, including blackmailing the people, the forced cultivation system gave many benefits to the people and the Netherlands. The royal treasury that had been extremely critical was quickly filling up.
The Dutch economy is getting better and healthier. The prosperity of the Dutch people rapidly increased. Every year millions of guilders flow from wealthy Indonesia to the Netherlands. Even in 1832 and 1867 the profits obtained by the Dutch reached 967 million guilders. At that time the value of the guilder was very high, while the dollar had not dominated banking as it is now.
For his services, the creator of the forced cultivation system, Johannes van den Bosch, received the title of nobility of graaf. However, the prosperity of the Netherlands was created with the lives, sweat, blood, and tears of the Indonesian people. The system of forced cultivation has resulted in a famine that has claimed the lives of thousands of people. In 1844 in the Cirebon area there was a famine that claimed thousands of people's lives and in 1848 the Demak area was attacked by a famine.
Similarly, the famine in the Grobogan area, Central Java, in 1849 which reportedly claimed 9/10 of the total population. The population of Demak, which at that time numbered 336 thousand people, lived 120 thousand people.
The number of victims was so large that the forced cultivation system was challenged by a number of Dutch people themselves. Among them are Douwes Dekker, assistant resident of Lebak, Banten, who uses the pseudonym Multatuli. His work Max Havelaar sharply criticized the cruelty of his people at that time.
Previously, during the Governor General Marshal Herman Willem Daendels (1808-1811), every head of the people in West Java was ordered to plant and maintain 500 coffee trees. The harvest had to be sold to the Government of the Indies at a price of 10 guilders per quintal. Even though the market price is 10 times higher. Daendels expelled the Sultan of Banten because he could not gather a thousand people every day to work on the Anyer to Panarukan highway project.
The sultan who opposed the Dutch because his people were forced to work in Ujung Kulon, which at that time became a hotbed of disease, was finally exiled. The palace was destroyed and we can still find the ruins to this day. According to historical records, more than a thousand people died and thousands more were injured as a result of Daendels' forced labor system, although the result can be enjoyed in the form of a 1,200 km long highway.
The Dutch atrocities continued to be followed by Governor General Jan Pieterszoon Coen. Shortly after founding Batavia, in 1621 he exterminated the inhabitants of the island of Banda in the Moluccas. There are reports that on this island JP Coen has committed extraordinarily cruel killings and massacres. The Bandanese who did not die in the fight or were killed by VOC soldiers were transported to Batavia as slaves.
According to historical records, until 1633 they were still chained as slaves. These Bandanese were placed in Kampung Banda(n), near Ancol, North Jakarta. While the Balinese who were transported to Batavia as slaves in 1683 numbered 13 thousand people.

In 1990 Union had 3rd largest economy in World only behind Japan and USA. GDP of USSR was 2.659.000.000.000$. Many of today states reached their GDP from 1990 in 2010s. For example, Russian GDP in 2013 was 2.297.125.000.000$ and in 2016 was 1.283.162.000.000$ so it was almost cut in half. So GDP of UR in 2018 would be 2.179.310.000.000$ or more than 500.000.000.000$ less than in 1990. This would put them on 9th place behind UK, India, Brazil but In front of Canada, Italy and South Korea. GDP per capita would be 7.363$ which is almost 2.000$ less than in 1990. And this is putting them on 77. place behind Montenegro and in front of Libya. Not every country in UR would have same wages. Like in Estonia average monthly wage is 957€, in Latvia 738€ and in Lithuania 690€. On the other side we have poor countries such as Belarus with average monthly wage of 357€, Moldova with 212€ and Ukraine with 210€. That's way less then in 1990. Then there is poor Caucaus except Azerbaijan, poor Central Asia except Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan and guess what would be their main export be? Of course oil! Their main trading partner would be China. China would be one of "best friends" of UR because of Russia. Their "good friends" would be as they are Iran, Syria, India and Vietnam. And with that in mind Baltic are in EU and NATO so до свидания. Except Baltics we also have problems in Ukraine, On Caucasus and also in Central Asia.
